Dr Ryszard Popek's priceless collection of roses in the Herbarium KRAM

In 2015, an impressive collection of roses (genus Rosa L., family Rosaceae) by Dr Ryszard Popek, a botanist affiliated with the Pedagogical University of Kraków and an expert in the taxonomy of wild roses found in Poland and Europe, was donated to the herbarium of vascular plants of the W. Szafer Institute of Botany of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Kraków (KRAM V). The collection has recently been organized and made available. It includes about 6,300 herbarium sheets (including nomenclatural types). Anyone interested in the taxonomy of the genus Rosa, and more, is welcome to explore our collections.
