Committee on Nature Conservation of the Polish
Academy of Sciences works within the Division Two of the Polish Academy
of Sciences (Biological and Agricultural Sciences)

The object of interest of the Committee are
natural and humanistic bases of protection of both abiotic natural
environment and biodiversity at all its organizational levels. With its
activity, the Committee supports studies on abovementioned disciplines,
cooperates in dissemination of studies and scientific works’ results,
supporting ecological education at its various levels. Moreover, the
Committee runs expert, consultative, and advisory activity within its
speciality, cooperating with the Polish Academy of Sciences,
governmental and various scientific organizations (both Polish and
foreign).

The Committee is a member of the International
Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), and also functions as the National Committee on Cooperation with IUCN.
