Research interests:
Mycology, phytopathology evolution, systematics, species concept, host specificity, co-evolutionary relations with host plants, and biogeography of smut fungi (Ustilaginomycotina, Pucciniomycotina: Microbotryales) on the worldwide scale, to a lesser extend also other phytopathogenic fungi. In the past research focused on the diversity and geographical distribution of polypores and corticioid fungi in Poland.
