Other achievements

In the course of biodiversity studies on phytopathogenic fungi in west Africa two new species for this continent – Fusicladium tectonicola on Tectona grandis (phot.) from Ghana and Cameroon and Pseudocercospora tandojamensis on Ziziphus spina-christi from Cameroon were reported. Additionally, Pseudocercospora abelmoschionHibiscus esculentusi was recorded for the first time in Cameroon.

Four species of lichenicolous fungi new to science were described: Capronia paranectrioides Etayo, Flakus & Kukwa (Bolivia), Lichenochora tertia Etayo, Flakus & Rodr. Flakus (Peru), Llimoniella catapyrenii Zhurba., Kukwa & Flakus (Canada, Poland) and Niesslia echinoides Etayo, Flakus & Kukwa (Bolivia) "

During ongoing studies of lichenized fungi of Bolivia additional 23 species new to South America were reported: Anisomeridium guttuliferum, Bathelium aff. sphaericum, Bryonora curvescens, Byssolecania pluriseptata, Caprettia confusa, Chroodiscus submuralis, Coenogonium barbatum, Echinoplaca tetrapla, Gyalectidium laciniatum, G. pallidum, Lepraria elobata, L. jackii, Mazosia conica, Phylloblastia excavata, Porina conica, P. subnucula, P. aff. subpallescens, Psiloparmelia arhizinosa, Pyrenula laetior, Strigula minuta, Szczawinskia tsugae, Trichothelium intermedium and Trinathotrema lumbricoides.

Submitted to GenBank database 175 nucleotide sequences barkodingowych markers (loci mother, rbcL, trnH-psbA) for species representing types of Anthoxanthum, Dryopteris, Elymus, Empetrum, Hordelymus, Hordeum, Leymus, Lophopyrum, Psathyrostachys, Pseudoroegneria, Rumex, Thinopyrum, Symphytum, Taeniatherum, Vaccinium (W. Bieniek, M. Combik).
